Laura Graves
Laura Graves is a freelance artist based in Toronto, Canada. She is mostly known for her expressive animal portraits. A constant daydreamer, Laura turns to art to escape life in a busy city. She spends a lot of time imagining the inner lives of her subjects and tries to capture the magic in her work. Many of her most popular pieces are paintings of her two cats and corgi, Sadie. Laura’s work usually starts with a quick sketch and then is scanned and painted digitally. Although she loves to paint in oil, she finds her home studio is often overrun by the household pets, making traditional painting a messy endeavour. Her beautiful artwork and detailed drawings are not only inspired by her pets but vintage children books and fairy tales.
