Pechane Sumie is an artist from Sermoise Sur Loire, France. Pechane has been practising art ever since he was a child mainly with acrylic's and didn't actually start painting until 1993. In 2002, he discovered the beautiful art of sumi-e, that is where it all began. Sumi-e is a Japanese monochrome ink wash painting technique using black ink. It's origins come from Chinese calligraphy and the emphasis is placed on the beauty of every stroke. Pechane creates minimalist portraits and landscapes in this ink on paper using his signature of white space to surround it. Still living in France, Pechane's art has been exhibited in solo and group show's all over the world.
